      • In the 18th and early 19th centuries, these sonatas appeared in two versions: published by the Amsterdam firm of Roger (an unauthorised forgery [by Walsh?]) and by John Walsh. The two editions contain 14 sonatas between them.
      • In 1879 with the publication of Friedrich Chrysander's volume 27 of Handel-Gesellschaft (HG), HWV 379 and 371 were added.
    • HG edition: 27 adapted and extended these opus 1 numbers.

    • Notes: Historical inconsistency exists between a copy of the official Order of Service with comments by the Archbishop (William Wake) and the Clerk of the Cheque, Jonathan Smith, who kept an actual record of what was performed and in what order.
