Weser-Renaissance

• Description : A mixed vocal (women and countertenors) and instrumental ensemble of Dutch and German singers as well as sackbuts, chitarrone, and positiv organ. Specialize in repertoire from the 16th and 17th centuries. The ensemble's name derives from the architectural style that flourished in the Weser area ca. 1600; this style imitated Italian Renaissance models and sought to integrate them into Northern German culture. The ensemble is affiliated with the musical college, the Akademie für Alte Musik, Bremen.
